Nicki Minaj picks up two major AMAs trophies despite being snubbed from the Grammys and becomes the most awarded rapper ever at AMAs. The annual awards show which was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on Sunday night (November 20), emerged many winners. One of them was Nicki Minaj as she was a heavy favorite to win the Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist along side Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown and Future who were among the Hip Hop/ RnB stars who added to their respective trophy collections at the 2022 American Music Awards.

Nicki has been very strong in 2022, as she’s been extremely consistent. This includes the release of singles such as “Bussin” with Lil Baby, “Do We Have A Problem” featuring Lil Baby, “We Go Up” with Fivio Foreign and “Super Freaky Girl.” Super Freaky Girl went on to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and is the highest charting solo rap song by a female artist, since Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998.

As a result, fans assumed that the consistency by Nicki Minaj kept the pressure on her rivals, copping two awards at the American Music Awards. Her win as the favourite female artist for Rap/ Hip-Hop and favorite song in the Latin category turns the New York based rapper who recently gave birth in October. Her album reentered this week’s Billboard 200 on its milestone as fans and newer fans rush after her music.
